Hi there! I’m Charlotte.
Here’s where you’ll find me baking Coconut Granola Bars, writing about the way Spaghetti a la Boutargue reminds me of my grandfather, and how, last summer, Tel Aviv crawled under my skin.
I was born in Los Angeles to French parents, which resulted in yearly transatlantic migrations to Paris. Next, my family moved to Israel, where I lived in Jerusalem and Beersheba. I began this blog while living in Brooklyn, New York; I’m currently back in Jerusalem. Most of the time, I feel like I’m hovering somewhere above the Atlantic, twisted roots dangling from the soles of my feet.
Some of my favorite recipes include these Oatmeal Muffins, this Olive Oil Granola with Almonds & Dates, and this Roast Carrot & Avocado Salad. You can view a recipe index here.

As for the name of this blog: I love chocolate, so Charlotte au Chocolat, a classic French dessert, seemed pretty fitting.

Hey Monica! So fun to see you here!!! I’m just writing a post about one of Heidi’s salads! I’m so jealous you received your book already! I pre-ordered mine from Amazon and haven’t received it yet :(
Hi Charlotte,
Its my first time here….and loving it, loving it, loving it! I could repeat that over and over but it still wouldn’t explain how much I’m liking your photography and food! Well, mainly food. OK OK fine, I’m here just for the food. There, I said it.
So following you from now.
Hi Amrita! So glad you’re here! Thank you for such a sweet, sweet note!
I nominated you for the Inspiring Blog Award….Congrats!!!
You are well and truly bookmarked. Your writing, your pictures (stupendous but not distracting from the words) and your food. So glad to have met you.
Oh! Thank you so much, Rachel. I’ve been enjoying your lovely blog for a few years now! xo
I love your style of writing, and I’m very jealous. I have great adventures, and I think I take decent photos, but I long ago came to terms with the fact that I’m not a writer.
Jealous?! Don’t be! Your photos are beautiful. Enjoy your adventures!
Great blog! :)
Thanks!
Oh wow. I envy you! Jerusalem is def on my list of must-have-seen-cities :) and I’ll check out your blog again when we get there! (hopefully some day!)
PS: Mousse a Chocolate is “savoureux”. What a lovely and funny blog name!
Hi Suze! Jerusalem is quite special- I’ll be happy to help with recommendations when you visit. xo
Loved your photo of rhubarb!

I am happy to have found your blog! You are one of the rare people who uses as I do, olive oil in your recipes… I have a granola bar recipe too. I am going to check it all now, looking forward to follow your future posts :)
